Montgomery County Master Gardener Association

Our next class is scheduled for 2027. Please check back early in the year for more information.

Do you have a passion for gardening and a desire to share your knowledge with others? Becoming a Master Gardener of Montgomery County is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of horticulture while giving back to the community through volunteer work. Our program focuses on educating and engaging the public in sustainable gardening practices across Middle Tennessee.

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to support gardening education in their local communities. Through volunteer projects, events and outreach programs, you’ll have the chance to help others with their gardening challenges while continuing to expand your own knowledge.

As a Master Gardener, you’ll contribute to a wide range of activities, from helping maintain community and demonstration gardens to offering advice through our “Ask a Master Gardener” program. It’s a rewarding way to make a difference in Middle Tennessee!

The process to become a Master Gardener begins with completing our application. Once accepted, you’ll go through an extensive 40-hour training program that covers topics such as botany, soil health, plant diseases, pest management and more. Upon completion of training, you’ll put your new skills into action through volunteer service – a minimum of 40 hours your first year.

Internship applications will be available on this site. Please check back in early 2027 to complete the interest form.
